What is Prayer?
Prayer is our way of communicating and speaking with GOD, our Father, our Creator, our reason for existing. From Genesis to Revelation we find that GOD is extremely engaged and interested in a relationship with us. We all know from life’s experiences that if we do not communicate in a particular relationship (i.e. marriage, family, friend or co-worker), the relationship will die. Many Christians talk a lot about GOD, but the Lord desires that we talk to Him (see 2 Chron 7:14). The Lord also requires that we talk with Him on a regular basis. We are to pray without ceasing and we are to cast our cares on the Lord for He cares for us. Don’t let your relationship with the LORD die! Talk-Pray…He is waiting, He Is listening, HE IS SOVEREIGN!
Prayer, Our Gateway to God
II Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Prayer is our connection to God. It is the way we strengthen our relationship with Him. What married couple is able to maintain a strong relationship without regular communication? Can your spouse speak to you in the morning for five minutes and then not again until the evening just before you go to bed and still expect the marriage to flourish? Certainly not! And so it is with God. Why do we think that we can only pray to God for five minutes in the morning and five minutes before we go to bed at night and think that we are building a relationship with Him? Just as our earthly relationships require constant communication in order to survive, so does our relationship with our Father in Heaven. The poet David Whyte asserts that when the conversation ends, the relationship dies. It is only through regular communication that we come to understand the heart and mind of God. And beloved, let us not confuse talking about the goodness of God to someone else with actual communication with Him.
Talking about God is not communicating with God! Again, prayer is our connection to Him. We have to be certain that He knows our voice when we cry out to Him. And how can He know it if we never talk to Him?!!
Psalm 55:17 declares, “Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.” Saints, make sure that you know, that you know, that you know that God hears and knows your voice! PRAY!!!!!!!!!!
Prayer of Salvation
Do You Know...
- GOD LOVES YOU
- SIN SEPARATES PEOPLE FROM GOD
- JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SINS
- YOU CAN RECEIVE JESUS NOW AND KNOW GOD'S LOVE
" If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved."
Pray this prayer out loud:
Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name I repent of my sins and open my heart to let Jesus come inside of me. Jesus, You are my Lord and Savior. I believe you died for my sins and that God raised you from the dead. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. Thank You Father for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Prayer for our Pastors
Father, I thank You that our pastors are faithful, and that You preserve them.
Thank You that they abound with blessings, and do not grow weary in well doing.
Lord, I thank You that You who began a good work in them will perfect it.
Thank You that they are Your workmanship created in Christ Jesus and equipped
in every good thing to do Your will. Father, work in them that which is well-pleasing in Your sight.
Let all grace abound toward them, having sufficiency in all things,
and an abundance for every good work.
God I thank You that because they have sowed bountifully, they will reap bountifully,
and whether they plant or water, Father, You give the increase.
I pray that they continually triumph in Christ, diffusing the fragrance of His knowledge in every place,
and that all blessings come upon them and overtake them, because they obey Your voice, O God.
Instruct them and teach them in the way they should go;
reveal the deeper things of God to them by Your Spirit.
Let them be vessels of honor, sanctified and useful for Your glory, prepared for every good work.
God help them to shepherd the flock willingly, eagerly, and to be an example to them.
Father, help them to know that their speech and preaching is in demonstration of Your Spirit and power,
and they are to be instant in season and out of season to preach the Word.
I thank You that every place the soles of their feet tread upon has been given to them,
that they are strong and of good courage for You.
Lord, go with them. They wait on You, and You strengthen them in their heart.
I tear down the strongholds over the pulpit. I lift up our pastors and cover them with the blood of Jesus.
Sickness and disease shall in no way come near them, for they are redeemed from the curse of the law.
I say that no weapon formed against them will prosper,
and every tongue rising against them shall be shown to be in the wrong.
Father, let the gifts and anointings on their lives come forth.
Birth the things that You have spoken to them in their hearts as they continually give themselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word.
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!
Prayer for our Government
Heavenly Father, I give thanks for our government.
I pray for all men and women having authority over us in any way.
Pour out Your Spirit upon them and make Your Word known to them.
Cause them to be men and women of integrity, obedient concerning us,
that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, in all godliness and honesty.
Let wisdom enter their hearts, and let knowledge be pleasant to them.
Let discretion preserve them and understanding keep them,
to deliver them from the way of evil and from evil men.
Make their hearts and ears attentive to godly counsel,
doing what is right in your sight.
Let the upright dwell in our government.
Cause there to be a shaking in all areas.
Let those complete and blameless before You stay, and cut off the wicked.
Let the unfaithful be rooted out.
Bring to light what is hidden in darkness,
and expose the secret aims of the hearts.
Let this nation remember from where they have fallen,
repenting, and returning to doing their first works,
setting their hearts and their souls to seek the Lord,
humbling themselves, praying, and turning from their wicked ways.
Then hear them, O Lord, and forgive their sins and heal our land.
Open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light.
Soften the hearts that are hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
Deliver them from their destructions.
Father, You have been longsuffering toward us,
not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance.
Raise up a standard in this nation.
Cause the rains of Your Spirit to flood this land
and revive Your work in the midst of us.
Raise up intercessors for this nation
to pull down strongholds over this land.
And let Your glory be reveled! In Jesus' name I pray. Amen!
